An Evening with Alexandre Tannous & Innov Gnawa
Sponsored and produced by David Ellenbogen and NYC Radio Live, this event will feature the Grammy nominated group Innov Gnawa, led by Maâlem (Master) Hassan Ben Jaafar and his musicians. The performance will be preceded by an educative Keynote presentation that I will offer explaining the spiritual, ecstatic, and healing trance of this mind-altering and extremely complex and mesmerizing North African musical style. I will also address the innate need that drives humans to create settings and conditions to experience such transcendental and non-ordinary states of consciousness through music/sound, the force and intelligence behind it, and its importance for consciousness to connect with divine order and intelligence.
